Firehall Park

Firehall Park Memorial

Next to the Firehall in Wolf Point, is a beautiful park located in a residential area on the west end of Main Street.   It provides a cool place to rest during the hot summer months in Wolf Point.  It’s also a great place to sit and watch the parades during the Wolf Point Stampede.  During the Stampede celebration in July, the park is utilized for “cowboy church”.  A flatbed trailer provides the pulpit and the park is the outdoor church.

On March 1st, 2008 Wolf Point lost one of its own in a fishing accident at Fort Peck Lake in Valley County in Montana.  Matthew A. Golik had been serving as the Mayor of the City of Wolf Point since his appointment in July, 1999 and subsequent elections in 2001 and 2005.  The Fire Department erected a memorial in Firehall Park, for Mayor Golik using donations the department received in his memory.
