City Attorney

The City Attorney is an appointed position with the City of Wolf Point and is the Chief Legal Advisor for the Mayor, City Council/Committees and all other City Departments on legal questions as may arise in relation to the business of the city, and other duties as per state statute. The City Attorney’s office is located at 211 Main, Wolf Point Montana. Office hours are 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

The City Attorney is responsible for the preparation of ordinances, resolutions, and contracts and the review of the same to assure that all City activities and projects are within the framework of the law. The City Attorney will also appear before city court and other courts and prosecute on behalf of the city.

When required, the City Attorney will give to the Mayor or City Council written opinions on questions pertaining to the duties and the rights, liabilities, and powers of the city; and perform other duties that pertain to the functions of the City Council or that the City Council prescribes by resolution.
