Parks & Recreation

Spread throughout the City of Wolf Point, are a variety of parks. Each provides a different sense of purpose of enjoyment. For an active family, there is Borge Park, which provides a variety of activity for all ages. This is truly a “show case” park. It is home for many Wolf Point families during the summer months. There is Sherman Park in downtown Wolf Point that is home to the Shumway Gazebo that was bestowed upon the residents of Wolf Point by Roy and Loretta Shumway in loving memory of Frank and Anna Shumway, Roy’s parents.

The City also has several parks that received federal grants from the Land & Water Conservation Fund through the Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks. This program helped to create recreational area within the State of Montana for now and for future generations. The parks which received this funding are: Benton Street Park (aka South side Park); O-Skat-E Park, Triangle Park, and Borge Park.

A park located just off of U.S. Highway #2—Nellie’s Park was named for a local resident who showed her real community spirit by caring for the newly planted trees within the park and the Wolf Point City Council at that time honored her by naming the park after her.
