The City of Wolf Point was incorporated on July 15, 1915 and is located in the northeast corner of Montana in Roosevelt County. The city has a commission-executive (mayor-council) form of government. The city council consists of eight elected council members who are elected from four wards on a nonpartisan basis for four year overlapping terms of office. The mayor is elected at-large for a four year term of office. The city council which is the legislative body of the city, is responsible for determining the policy direction for the city. The mayor, who is the chief executive, is charged with carrying out that policy and administering the day to day affairs of the city government. The population of Wolf Point is 2,517 according to the 2020 Census.
